Daily morning gathering includes community building through movement and games.
Hands on activities that build on early math concepts: number sense, measurement, logic, estimating, graphing and problem solving.
Develop math fluency through questioning, observing and applying understanding in an atmosphere of curiosity and play. Focus is on individual perspectives and approaches to solving problems.
Class includes a half hour of Open Play after the class to support social emotional development.

Exploring the world around us and expanding on the interests of the classroom through science, building, art and mathematics with hands-on investigations.
Investigating the world through experiments: predicating, collecting, testing, and analyzing.

Cooking/Gardening/Workshop

Budding chefs will learn kitchen skills: preparing, cooking and trying new foods and learning about dishes of other cultures.
Learn life skills while actively participating in the farm to fork process: seasonal planting, farming, harvesting, preparing, and selling at RCS Farmers’ Market.
Open Exploration: games, movements, and building in Workshop.
Class includes one hour of Open Play before the class to support social and emotional development.
Cost: $1,215/semester
Thursday and Friday
Language Arts

Daily morning gathering includes community building through movement and games.
Word study to explore common spelling patterns and decode for meaning.
Read and write poetry to discover language patterns while developing fluency and inflection.
Introduce convention of English grammar and usage.
Small-group, teacher-led, mini-lessons support vocabulary development and spelling strategies.
Word play games that actively engage students in practicing high-frequency words and spelling patterns.
Class includes a half hour of Open Play after the class to support social and emotional development.

Reading/Writing Workshop

Creative writing, illustrating, and publishing books by exploring the topics that interest them.
Use writing and reading for a purpose with a blend of student-choice and teacher directed activities including narrative and descriptive writing, poetry.
Edit, revise, and practice spelling conventions and grammar through one on one teacher conferences tailored to student's needs.
Develop comprehension strategies by examining point of view, investigating characters, setting and tone through literature response journals and discussions.
Class includes a half hour of Open Play before the class to support social and emotional development.

Art/Team Building/Workshop

Maker-centered class that invites students to apply critical thinking and innovation skills in the classroom to solve complex problems through design thinking and STEAM.
Introduce to a range of art mediums while participating in an exploration of world art and artists.
Through team building activities, students work on communication and collaboration to increase a team’s cohesiveness, productivity, and efficiency.
Class includes one hour of Open Play before the class to support social emotional development: perspective taking, problem solving, and working together.
Cost: $1,215
We offer 10% sibling discount when you enroll full-time.
We accept Charter School vouchers as well as personal installment payments or a combination of the two.
