Cintia - (Kindergarten Program) Teacher
My name is Cintia Medrado. I was born and raised in Brazil but have lived in the U.S. for the past 29 years. Growing up in the state of Bahia instilled in me a deep sense of culture and community that I carry with me in all aspects of my life. I am fluent in Portuguese and able to speak some Spanish. Despite the distance, I maintain close ties with my extended family in Brazil (including my 106-year-old grandmother!) and visit my country whenever it is possible.
I like to travel, enjoy outdoor activities such as walks in nature, and find great joy in trying new food, dancing, and spending time with my family and animals. Since the early 2000’s, I’ve worked with young children but took a break for a few years to raise my children. My goal as an early educator is to nurture children’s innate curiosity and creativity through play and experiences that encourage active learning. Roseville Community School’s progressive philosophy strongly resonates with my educational beliefs. What attracts me to this philosophy is its approach to nurture the whole child – intellectually, emotionally, and socially. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. Please stop by to visit and say hello.
Emily - Younger Program (1st Grade) Teacher
Teaching children has always been a huge part of who I am, and who I want to continue to be. I find life to be a lot more fun when you embrace your inner child, and connect with our youth. I am wildly passionate about keeping the arts alive. I show people how to connect with the arts. Genuine enthusiasm in each activity, building confidence, regulating their peace and needs, letting go of perfectionism, and most importantly...feeling safe. My background has a long list of artistic teaching, including; set designing, musical theatre, directing, sketch/paint/sculpt directive teachings, art event teachings, and previously homeschooling my own children. My style of teaching and parenting is a calm approach with open arms, and no judgement. Avoiding loud, overstimulating settings. I am an empath at heart, and truly want our world to be full of love and kindness. Nothing more. I’m a firm believer in taking risks, encouraging one another, and never ever giving up on ourselves. Fun facts about me; I love the water. And all the animals in it. Snorkeling in and swimming the rivers is one of my favorite places to be. I love being outside, and believe sunshine and grounding is one of the most therapeutic practices. I also love the stage, reading, painting, and getting creative. What a beautiful privilege it is to work and walk alongside the students and staff at RCS.
Kristin - Younger Program ( 2-3rd Grade) Teacher
I’ve been teaching at Roseville Community School since 2007, and it has truly become a second home for me and my family—both of my children attended RCS. I’m passionate about progressive education and deeply value the strong, supportive community that defines our school. I believe in honoring childhood, treating children with genuine respect, and creating space for their curiosity to guide their learning. It’s a joy to work in an environment where students are seen, heard, and encouraged to be themselves.

Terina - Garden Coordinator
I'm so excited to be working closely with Chef D as the RCS Garden Coordinator, planning and planting what we will grow ahead of the cooking and eating that takes place in the kitchen classroom; maintaining the garden as a learning lab of sensory discovery for the RCS community. I love learning how we can grow food in organic and sustainable ways to nourish ourselves and our environment. My own garden is a mix of edibles and California native plants where pollinators and other insects are welcome to find a home. Growing your own food is kind of magical, and I love watching kids discover how delicious a fresh picked pea is, or what a potato looks like when freshly dug from the soil. I have years of experience working with both children and adults as a mentor, trainer, and teacher. My creative skills include writing and art--I also teach ceramics.
