Tuesday-Friday 9:00-12:30
Each day begins with a community-building gathering that includes movement, discussion, and shared activities. Social-emotional learning is woven throughout the day as students practice communication skills, empathy, emotional regulation, and collaborative problem-solving.
Students explore math through hands-on activities, real-world problem solving, and interactive games. Lessons build skills in number sense, measurement, estimation, graphing, logic, and foundational reasoning.
Rooted in Language and Science of Reading principles guide our literacy work. Students strengthen phonics, handwriting, spelling, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing fluency. Creative projects—poetry, bookmaking, journaling, and interest-based writing—support joyful expression and skill growth, supported through one-on-one conferencing.
Students investigate communities, world cultures, geography, and the natural world through inquiry-based projects. Hands-on exploration, storytelling, and cross-cultural activities help students build global awareness and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
Tuesday-Friday 12:30-1:30
Open Play is a cherished part of the RCS experience, giving students time to connect, move their bodies, and build friendships through meaningful play. Each afternoon, children enjoy lunch together followed by supervised play in our sand yard, small field, and outdoor game areas. This unstructured time supports social–emotional development, cooperation, creativity, and exploration.
For Morning Core Students:
Open Play may be added to your child’s schedule as an optional program extension from 12:30–1:30 PM (Tuesday–Friday).
For Full-Time & Afternoon Enrichment Students:
Open Play is already included in your program at no additional cost.
Tuesday-Friday 12:30-1:30 (Includes Free Open Play)
Cooking & Nature Maker’s Lab (Integrated Enrichment Class)
Tuesday-Wednesday
In this rotating enrichment class, students explore two complementary learning experiences: guided cooking with our on-campus chef and Nature Maker’s Lab, a creativity-driven science and engineering workshop.
Cooking with Our Chef
Students work in small groups to prepare simple, seasonal recipes using real tools and proper kitchen safety practices. Each session builds confidence and independence while introducing nutrition, culinary skills, and the joy of sharing a meal together.
Nature Maker’s Lab
In this interdisciplinary “maker” class, students design, build, and experiment using natural and upcycled materials. Projects might include wind-powered creations, outdoor engineering challenges, nature journals, or plant-based art. Children learn observation, problem-solving, collaboration, and respect for the environment.
Students rotate between cooking and nature-based making, giving them a well-rounded, hands-on learning experience that blends science, creativity, and real-world skills.
Musical Theater
Thursday- Friday
Our Musical Theater program invites students to step into the world of storytelling through acting, singing, movement, and creative expression. In this enrichment class, children learn the foundations of stage performance while building confidence, teamwork, and communication skills in a supportive environment.
Students explore character development, vocal projection, choreography, and improvisation, all while working together to rehearse and perform a full production for families. Along the way, they practice important skills such as collaboration, public speaking, emotional expression, and creative problem-solving.
Whether a child loves being center stage or prefers working behind the scenes, every student has a meaningful role in bringing the show to life. This class is designed to nurture creativity, build self-esteem, and help students discover the joy of performing arts.
