Middle Program
Engaging Geography
Our Middle Program for grades 1-3 introduces young learners to geography through engaging, self-directed studies. Students explore the world around them, learning about continents, countries, and cultures. This approach fosters curiosity and encourages independent learning, allowing each child to dive deep into the topics that interest them most. Through maps, globes, and interactive projects, students gain a foundational understanding of the world while developing research and critical thinking skills that will support their academic growth across all subjects.
Science that Sparks Curiosity
In our Middle Program, science comes to life through hands-on, messy experiments. Students explore the wonders of the natural world, conducting experiments that encourage them to ask questions, make predictions, and observe outcomes. This experiential approach to science not only makes learning fun but also helps children develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. By getting their hands dirty, students build confidence in their ability to explore and understand the world around them, laying the groundwork for future scientific inquiry.
Building Strong Foundations in Math and Literacy
RCS emphasizes the development of number sense and literacy skills, crucial for long-term academic success. Through math games, problem-solving puzzles, and collaborative challenges, students build a solid foundation in math, focusing on understanding numbers and developing problem-solving strategies. Additionally, our buddy reading program pairs students of different ages, promoting reading fluency and fostering a love of books. Writing skills are nurtured through story creation, with students sharing their work in the "author's chair," boosting their confidence as young writers. This holistic approach ensures a well-rounded educational experience that prepares students for future academic challenges.
