Description:
In Bee Calm, students will explore simple, age-appropriate mindfulness techniques that help them recognize their feelings, focus their attention, and calm their bodies. Through engaging activities such as breathing exercises, yoga, sensory experiences, gratitude journaling, and movement games, children will develop lifelong tools to support emotional regulation and overall well-being. The class blends hands-on creativity with mindful movement, offering students a balance of fun, focus, and self-awareness.
Skills & Learning Objectives:
Learn simple breathing exercises such as box breathing and finger breathing.
Improve coordination, balance, self-regulation, and flexibility through yoga.
Strengthen problem-solving skills and self-regulation through hands-on activities like making slime.
Special Highlights:
Weekly mindfulness practices that build on one another.
Opportunities for sensory exploration and creative self-expression.
Outdoor scavenger hunt in the garden.
Materials Needed: Most supplies will be provided, including yoga mats, craft materials, and sensory play supplies. Students are welcome to bring their own yoga mat if preferred.
Note: This class requires a minimum of 5 students to run. Families will be notified if enrollment does not meet the minimum.
